Usual Skin burn Remedies

First degree burns are essentially minor and can be treated easily with natural remedies. Second degree burns, while a more significant injury than the first, is still fairly minor and can often be treated using some excellent home cures.

If however you suffer even minor burns, but over more then 5 % of your body you should seek immediate medical attention. Of course third degree burns are life threatening and medical attention is needed immediately.

Anytime you are unsure as to the severity of the burn seek the advice of a doctor or health care professional. But if your burn is minor, try these natural sources before running for some chemical based over the counter drug.

Herbal and other home remedies for burns

Aloe vera

Aloe is great for cooking burns or other similar kinds of burns. If you have aloe growing naturally, cut off a leaf and the steam and peel the outer layer. Place the peeled leaf directly on the burn. Leave for a few minutes and remove gently. After removing you will notice that a gel has been left behind. Leave this on and bandage. You can do this a couple of times a day for 2 or 3 days.

Lavender oil

Lavender oil is great for many kinds of burns and can be used neat which means undiluted. Apply as needed.

Calendula.

Make an infusion of this herb, let cool and apply lotion onto affected area.

Home made remedy

Blend olive oil and soy milk with 80% soy and 20% oil. Add a little crushed ice and soak the burn in this milk. It will cool the burning and aid healing.

Vitamin treatment

Vitamin E oil may be just what you need. If you have these oil capsules for supplements take out one and open and place directly on the burn. If the skin is broken however, do not put on. It will speed healing and reduce or eliminate scaring.

Skin health and it`s ability to heal have a lot to do with how you take care of it before an accident happens. Be sure to drink lots of water, eat whole foods, supplement to ensure you have all needed nutrition, exercise, and try to get a little bit of sun, but not too much.
